The investments are capitalized by Ram sponsored discretionary private equity funds and institutional co-investment vehicles. Since 1996, Ram has acquired, developed, and redeveloped $4.4 billion of real estate including nearly 14,000 apartments and over 10 million square feet of commercial space.

STRATEGY

The Company’s investment strategy is designed to continue our historical process of deploying resources – both capital and talent – to markets with opportunities where we believe competitors have either (a) under-estimated upside, or (b) over-estimated risk. Our “bottoms up” approach to investing is enhanced by the combination of a strong institutional discipline and a creative entrepreneurial culture.

Our multifamily projects range from suburban infill garden or mid-rise, to urban high-rise. Our retail projects are primarily grocery-anchored shopping centers. Our mixed-use projects typically include both components. If a substantial portion of the mixed-use project involves a use other than retail or multifamily (i.e., major office or hotel), we bring in a partner.

We focus on infill locations in high-growth areas, often near demand drivers such as employment hubs, universities, hospital systems and transit.  We are typically able to access investments through relationships we have cultivated in the community.  

Equity is provided by Ram-sponsored discretionary funds, co-investment vehicles, and joint ventures. Our partners include public pension plans, endowments, insurance companies, family offices, and other global institutions.  Debt is provided by a select group of institutional lenders, primarily commercial banks.
